Taylormade Golf Clubs required tight manufacturing tolerances and continual product testing and development ensure that they are a consitent quality and performing product. It is absolutely amazing the lengths that are pursued to ensure nothing but the hihgest quality products are made available to customers. What you get is a very exacting and high performance piece of kit.
Considerable variety and ingenuity is a hallmark of the brand that is known as Taylormade golf. A large golf club product offering is at hand from Taylormade golf who also specialise in golf accessories. Industry forefront computer aided design and product simulations all add a considerable benefit to eventual product characteristics for golfers.
The response to the release has been nothing short of phenomenal for Taylormade Golf Clubs. Usually I dont get too excited about something like this but my first use rekindled an old fire. These are not only physically pleasing to look at but have a vast ability to perform under all conditions.
Tour design and shape incorporate Low center of gravity higher MOI and less spin than conventional ironss delivering ideal launch conditions and playability for mid to high swing speeds and the aspirational golfer. Taylormade Golf Clubs controls gapping consistency in the 5 - 7 irons via a hollow back design. CGB RAC R7 Burner. 8 - PW. Cavity-back design and shaping designed to maximize forgiveness yet still appeal to the better player
Taylormade Golf Clubs have proven to be a piece of kit that is incredibly easy to use and I only wish I had acquired them much earlier. 3 rounds in row now within 3 shots of each other is a good initial indicator for me with a 5 shot variance the norm from my statistics. I am not getting any younger and my game is shortening but these clubs have levelled the field a little for me again.
The intended audience for the irons is pretty much anyone who needs to increase their consistency on a week in week out basis. My confidence on longer iron shots really has taken off and I now feel that I can put the ball wherever I want whereas previously it was a get it up there somewhere situation. Taylormade Golf Clubs has releived me of the burden of worrying about all of the technology I should have and allows me to just get on with the game.
Be honest with your own ability when figuring out your sporting equipment requirements. Following this mantra will almost certainly improve your results. Careful design innovation and extensive match experience have resulted in a very wide player audience for the Taylormade Golf Clubs.
Dont get caught out by the shonks when you purchase and always ensure you are happy with the suppliers reputation. We have all seen the ridiculously expensive which I for one dont want to endure to the impossibly cheap with perhaps suspect legitimacy. Here are a few I have used in the past offtogolf.com.au golfsaleadams.com and offtogolf.com.au but check out their discount golf equipment as they quite often just clearout excess stock.

You Vote: World’s Worst Golf Swing

I walk most of my rounds of golf and I play on a lot of hilly courses. By the time Im finished my feet cant wait for the moment of ecstasy when the shoes come off. Ive worn a lot of different brands of golf shoes in my day and I cant say Ive ever found one thats as comfortable as a good sneaker or walking shoe.
It must have something to do with those spikes on the bottom. It feels like most of my weight is being supported by those little suckers as they dig into the sole of my foot.
I also do a lot of trail hiking over hill and dale and my feet dont ache nearly as much as they do after a round of golf. All this got me to thinking that if I could find a good hiking type of shoe for golfing Id feel much better at the end of my round.
So I looked in sporting goods stores for something that would be comfortable, give me great support, be waterproof and allow me to hit golf balls in all conditions without slipping. That last item is particularly important. Ive discovered over the years that soft spikes have a lot of drawbacks in that area.
Try playing with the grass wet, right after a mowing and see how long it takes for your spikes to be useless because theyre completely clogged. Youve been there, so you know that point comes about 10 feet up the first fairway. Its even more of a problem with dead leaves if you play in the Fall.
I chose a trail-running shoe which is basically a cross between a hiking boot and a sneaker. Theyre low cut, waterproof and have a very aggressive tread. After all, if youre going to run through the woods, up and down over rocks, you cant be slipping and sliding.
I ended up buying the North Face Ultra 104 Gore-Tex XCR trail running shoe from REI. Thankfully its easier to buy than say. Im in love. Ive only worn my golf shoes once this season since I bought these babies and thats because I was playing as a guest at a fancy club and didnt want to embarrass my host.
When I finish a round I no longer sprint to the car to change my shoes. Because theyre Gore-Tex lined and made for the trail, they can take any kind of watery conditions on the course with ease. And Ive never had a problem with slipping, even standing on a dewy hillside hitting a ball below my feet. Im not going back to golf shoes until the manufacturers start thinking outside the box.
Todays golf shoes may look stylish, but they leave a lot to be desired when it comes to function. Footjoy, Ecco and the rest, go send your RD people to the local camping store and combine the best of both worlds into a modern stylish, comfortable and practical golf shoe. And dont forget to leave those silly little plastic things off the bottom. They last about 2 rounds at best and dont work at all when its wet or its Fall.

This is a quick update from Saturdays post.
Sometimes things dont go to plan. My first round in the Club Championships did not get off to a good start, I kept making bogeys and was struggling badly. I was four over after five holes and when I made another bogey at number 8 it was not looking good.
What did I do?
I followed my own advice. I didnt panic. I freed up my swing and stopped worrying about the poor shots, feeling uncomfortable and what other people were thinking. I recommitted myself to playing golf and this helped turn things around.
I made par on holes 9 through to 13 (which steadied the ship) then a much needed birdie on fourteen gave me a shot of confidence. I birdied the 17th and dropped no more shots for the day. I signed for a 75 (3 over). Not the best score Ive ever had but one of the most pleasing. Best of all I kept myself in contention. Im sitting in equal second and in a good position for next weeks round.
Its easy to read and write about this process but it takes real commitment to put it into practice during competition. Theres also no guarantee that by following it youll always avoid bad scores. All you do is maximise your chances of playing well - theres definitely no magic pill when it comes to playing better golf.
Until you can swing and play without fear (especially under pressure) youll never play your best golf. Learning this has been the hardest but most satisfying one of my career. Something worth striving for and more important than new technology or some quick fix golf tip from a magazine.

Golf Tips Teaching 10/8/08

Accuracy dramatically lowers golf handicaps. Hitting a ball where you want when you want time and time again chops strokes off your scores and golf handicap. To help golfers improve, golf lessons on accuracy usually focus on swing mechanics. Thats a great place to start. The better a golfers mechanics, the better are her chances of hitting the ball exactly where she wants.
But perfecting swing mechanics is only half the battle. The other half is mastering the non-mechanical fundamentals, for lack of a better term, that also help determine accuracy. Golfers dont always work as hard on these fundamentals as they do on grooving the right swing mechanics. But make no mistake about it. Theyre as important to accuracy as having the right grip or swinging on plane.
Start Off In Balance
A good golf tip on achieving accuracy is to focus on balance. Balance is among the most overlooked of all swing fundamentals. Every big name swing teacher agrees that its critical to maintain balance throughout the swing. The best way of doing that is to start out in balance. A balanced starting form sets the tone for a good swing. It also promotes feelings of simplicity, freedom, and confidence.
Determine The Shots Key Factors
Another good golf tip is to always determine a shots direction before hitting it. Too often golfers address the ball without determining direction. In addition, determine other key factors like distance, trajectory, and curvature. All these factors must be considered to hit a target. Determining a shots purpose, also essential to accuracy, greatly influences those other factors.
Visualize Ball Flight
Once purpose and direction are determined, golfers must visualize the balls flight path. They need a mental picture of how the ball will reach the target. Once they have that, they can let their subconscious take over. Visualizing ball flight includes drawing a target line mentally. Focus on starting the ball on the target line and getting the ball to do what you want it to. Use any visualization technique that works.
Focus On Striking The Ball
A fourth golf tip for achieving accuracy is to focus on striking the ball. That’s especially true when it comes to driving. Once a golfer picks out a target and determines the balls flight path, he or she needs to focus on striking the ball. Too often a golfer tenses up in an effort to blast a 300-yard drive only to lose focus on hitting the ball. That usually results in a flubbed or an off-target shot.
Maintain Target Awareness
Target awareness is probably an important factor in accuracy. Some consider it even more important than confidence or good swing mechanics. While thats debatable, theres no doubt that its among the top keys to accuracy. But choosing a target doesnt mean picking out a spot somewhere out there. It means picking out a very specific target and aiming for it.
One day when Ben Hogan was practicing on the range, a colleague challenged him to hit a ball into a clump of trees. Hitting it into the trees wasnt specific enough for Hogan. He asked the colleague which tree he wanted him to hit. While no one expects you to be as accurate as the legendary Hogan, the story is a great example of what picking out a target means.
These five golf tips help improve swing accuracy. When combined with the proper mechanics, they help golfers pinpoint their shots with consistency. Practice also helps. Hitting a shot exactly where a golfer wants to—over and over again—not only grooves mechanics, but also builds confidence. Together, confidence and accuracy shave strokes off your golf handicap.

Climbing Tools: Munter Hitch / tyed off Munter
There is a difference between being good at a sport and truly excelling at it. You may never wish to compete in a sport climbing event, but that does not mean you do not want to develop your rockclimbing skills to the next level. A climbing school is a great way to improve your technical skills while learning how to increase your speed. A good school can even help you master areas with which you are having difficulty.

Golf swing basics are the fundamental steps to enjoying this ever expanding sport. Learning the basic simple techniques that professional golfers use gets you off on the right foot to becoming a professional golfer yourself. Unfortunately many avid golfers often avoid golf swing basics which in the long run only complicates the learning process.
The golf swing is one of the most important steps. Now I am not talking about just hitting a ball down the fairway a few hundred yards. But actually comprehending, doing and practicing all the elements that make up a successful swing. Observing professional golfers one can come to the conclusion that because they seem to swing with such ease, this is some skill you are born with. Nothing can be further from the truth. Every golfer, amateur or professional, started with learning the basics and practicing for hours at a time. You can do this to.
4 Important Golf Swing Basics
Here are 4 areas where amateur and professional golfers should be learning from.
1. Club Handle Grip
Your grip determines greatly how the ball will fly for you. A light grip can, under most circumstances, slice your shot. Where to tight of a grip almost always hooks your shot. Finding middle ground on this will take some practice but when you find this sweet spot you will remember it from then on.
2. Teeing Off In Your Mind
Next after your grip comes teeing off. Here is where focus comes into play. Ever noticed during golf tournaments how focused the players seem to be? They have learned to block out every distraction, including the crowd, and concentrate exactly where they want the ball to fly to. The best way to do this is take a few seconds before you hit the ball and mentally see the ball go where you desire. I like to call it a motion picture in my head of what I really want. This technique is more powerful than you can imagine, take the time to use it.
3. Backswing and Downswing Fundamentals
There seems to be a lot of confusion for players concerning an understanding of backswing and downswing. Simply put the downswing is designed to create club momentum at the ball. This is accomplished with your arms swinging in one full motion. Resist the desire to do this with your hands or wrists.
The concept of the backswing has different mechanics than the downswing. The backswing should be slower than the downswing but just as powerful. Always keep in mind your downswing should be 25 to 35% faster than your backswing. Once again this is brought out in practicing your swing.
4. Its All In The Motion
During the backswings motion your left shoulder and hips need to be in correct alignment as your weight is transfered to the right. Of course for left handers this is exactly the opposite. Practicing this will eventually make this a natural movement for you. Also remember to place your hands at waist level for proper execution of this move.
Remember learning golf swing basics from the start is how to enjoy this wonderful sport for years to come. With proper techniques and practice comes having better golf games played by yourself and with friends. Isnt that one of the best reasons to learn to play right from the beginning.

Novel Golf Swing Speed Test Results

Very few golfers are equally good in all three categories.  And the reason for this is golfers often try to transfer over aspects of the game that they are good at to other games.
For example, you have a good long game.  Now all golfers who have a good long game also have a very good one piece take-away.  This one piece take-away is great for the long shots. But for pitching it’s not so good,  because when you pitch you need to have a much more up and down action with the club, instead of the sweeping rounded action that you have with long shots.
Now here is a great drill that will teach you the correct pitching motion.
Simply setup to a pitch shot but put an old shaft or umbrella just inside the line you should swing back along and angle this on the same angle as your club at setup.

Probably the question that first comes to your mind when you
read this title is: what is S.A.I.D. and how does it help my
golf game? The reality is that S.A.I.D. is very connected to
your golf swing and is a very important principle if you want to
hit the ball farther and lower your scores.
Before introducing S.A.I.D. let us discuss improvement in the
game of golf. Improving your golf game requires developing
several disciplines. Generally speaking you must develop proper
swing mechanics, practice every aspect of the game (putting,
short game, chipping, pitching, short irons, long irons, fairway
woods, and driver), develop your course management skills, play
practice rounds, create understanding for the nuances of the
game, develop confidence, and finally develop your body.
Understand that the entire list of golf disciplines works as a
unit to improve your golf game. No one facet can be eliminated
from this list without having an effect on your overall
improvement. For example, if I were never to practice putting,
how well would I play? I may play great from tee to green, but
when it comes to putting, look for my scores to go through the
roof.
The last discipline mentioned was your body. Quite often this is
the forgotten aspect of improving your golf game, but it is
equally important. Let me ask you a question. What swings your
driver? Some answers may be your swing. In reality, your body
swings the club. Yes, your body swings the club, not the other
way around. Developing your body in relation to the swing allows
for a foundation to be created. This foundation is where you are
able to develop the proper mechanics of the swing.
If your body does not have the needed flexibility, balance,
coordination, or power to swing a club, how well are you going
to swing a driver? Not very well. If your body is weak and
inflexible developing an optimal swing will be next to
impossible.
The development of the body in relation to the swing is where
S.A.I.D. comes into play. S.A.I.D. refers to the principle of
specific adaptation to imposed demands. This principle states
that the body will adapt to the demands of the training stimulus
but will not adapt beyond the scope of that training stimulus
(NSCA Strength and Conditioning Journal, pg. 18, August, 2005).
Did I loose you in that last paragraph?
Let me explain. This principle pertains to developing the bodys
level of fitness in relation to any sport or activity. For
example, if I were to perform a bicep curl with a 25-pound
dumbbell 15 times the curl could be difficult in the beginning,
but over time it would get easier and eventually I could crank
out 15 repetitions with no problem. This is a result of my body
adapting (muscles getting stronger) to the resistance placed on
my body by the dumbbell.
Now here is the kicker, if I continued to only lift a 25-pound
dumbbell over the period of a year what do you think would
happen? I like to use the phrase diminishing returns to
explain this situation. Once the body adapts to a resistance,
the body plateaus and does not get stronger. At this point it
can even get weaker!
Now how does this pertain to golf? Think about it for a moment.
Greater distance off the tee is always a desire of every amateur
playing the sport. Amateurs go to great length to hit the ball
20, 10, or even 5 yards farther. They will buy new drivers, new
golf balls, new anything! Now if an amateurs clubhead speed is
somewhere around 85 mph, how is that clubhead speed going to
improve with a new driver or new ball? The answer is it will not.
Hypothetically, lets assume you have fairly efficient swing
mechanics. How are you going to increase your clubhead speed?
(Remember clubhead speed stays the same even if you buy a new
driver.) Someway or somehow you are going to have to generate
greater clubhead speed.
Increasing the efficiency with which you swing the club is one
way. But the efficiency with which you swing a club has an end
point, and once that end point is reached it wont go any
farther. What is the other way by which you can increase your
clubhead speed? Implementing a golf fitness program into your
routine can help.
A golf fitness program will develop the to improve
your swing mechanics. This type of program will develop your
flexibility, balance, coordination, strength, and endurance
capacities to improve your swing.
Additionally, it can develop greater clubhead speed. Clubhead
speed is a result of power development. Power development is
contingent upon your swing mechanics and body. Improving the
power outputs of your body will enhance your clubhead speed. And
greater clubhead speed equates to greater distance on your
drives.
If you have never developed a level of golf fitness, your body
is set at a certain level of power-generating capabilities.
Until you force the body to increase its power-generating
capabilities through the S.A.I.D. principle, your club head
speed will stay the same. A golf fitness program will place
resistance on your body forcing it to adapt and improve its
power capabilities. The end result will be greater clubhead
speed, and that can equate to longer drives.
Looking for a golf-specific fitness program to improve your
clubhead speed? Look no further than my manual Your Body Your
Swing. This program is filled with golf-specific flexibility,
balance, strength, endurance, and power exercises to enhance
your golf swing. My program implements the S.A.I.D.

The dreaded over the top golf swing, and how to fix it without one more golf lesson.
When we all start this crazy game of golf, it seems we have the wrong idea of how to hit the ball. And the key word is HIT. You seethe golf is a SWING not a hit, so if we have it in our mind we are going to HIT the ball, our mind will tell us to get to the ball as quick as we can, and that is usually the over the top golf swing.
When our eyes are fixed on the ball, we instinctively want to get at it, to HIT IT, to smack it with our hands first. Unfortunately that doesnt work too well does it? In fact, this is counter-productive to a solid shot in golf.
The best analogy for the golf swing is throwing a rock side arm. Remember when we were kids and we found the flattest rocks and could throw them all day long skipping them across the water? Look at what your body is doing when you throw the rock.
The most critical part is your lower body is leading the way. Then your hips, your core, shoulders and lastly your hand throwing the rock. This is exactly how the golf swing should feel. Like a side arm baseball throw.
The next time you go to the range, before you hit one ball, pick up a golf ball and throw it out in the range side arm. Remember that feeling, and then start hitting balls with the shorter clubs first, so you can repeat this motion. Get it built into your body, so you really know what it should feel like.
If you still cant do it with your golf club, I can almost bet you have a flexibility (and strength) issue in your core rotational movement. Because the golf swing seems to many as a very unnatural movement, your body actually gets in the way of you swinging the club.
Does that make sense?
I know Ive fought a lateral slide in my golf swing and I personally need to focus on rotating very early in my golf swing. Thats just me though.
But if you cannot lead your downswing with the lower body first, while staying back with your upper body, you have a physical limitation in your core area that needs to be addressed right away. If you dont take care of the physical limitation, you will most likely struggle with this swing fault for a very long time.
Doing stretches where your lower body is held still while your rotate your upper body to one side then the other is an easy way to improve your core rotational flexibility. This is a must if you want to fix your over the top golf swing.
Improving your core strength will also allow you to aggressively rotate your lower body first from the top of the downswing while keeping your upper body back for a split second. This allows you to get the lower body out of the way so you can drop your club into the proper slot, coming from the inside. Get this right, and you will NEVER swing over the top again.

Sometime around 4:30 during the last round of the third Fed Ex Cup playoff event (there are four), the announcer said: If Garcia sinks this putt, Vijay Singh wins the $10 million Fed Ex Cup. I thought I had misheard. How can this be? What about the last tournament in the series?
Vince McMahon is someone who knows what he's doing when it comes to hype. He's the showman who built wrestling into a major league spectator sport, and even though he failed when it came to his football league, he got one thing right -- what he called the Big Game at the End. The two best teams in the league played for all the glory in a deciding encounter -- at the end. It was hardly a revolutionary concept.
It's just like the Super Bowl, the World Series, the NBA Finals -- all major league professional sports are set up so [1] the excitement for the fans peaks at the end of the season, [2] the sponsors get maximum exposure for their buck and [3] the TV network that bought the rights makes some cash because both the drama and the ratings are high.
All major sports but the PGA Tour, that is. It's hard to believe that the commish Tim Finchem and his crew didn't catch a design flaw that violated the Big Game at the End rule. Unless he was Vijay Singh won the cup before the first tee shot of the last leg was even hit. Why design a structure where the last tournament has even a chance to be irrelevant? Sure it paid $10 million to the winner, but it wouldn't have mattered if they gave away a small town in New Jersey. It's like stirring your drink with your nose -- a nice trick, but why?
The Tour could also take a cue from The Donald. Trump has it right in his million-dollar ADT tournament for the LPGA. You take the top 30 scores after three days, and those players advance to the final day, where all scores are wiped away and everyone starts equal. It has some pump to it, and most importantly, it eliminates the possibility of someone winning before the tournament is over.
It's the simple stuff that generates interest. Trump knows the value of a crescendo, whether it's someone being fired or someone winning a million bucks.
Finchem, the accountant, apparently doesn't. Unless you were a golf diehard, why would you watch a four-tournament package with a format so complicated that it could be sold on Wall Street as part of another toxic security package ready for public consumption?
Tims' Whim needs to be more like Trump's Pump. It's pretty basic: The key to fixing the FedEx Cup is to make the Tour Championship the Big Tournament at the End.

All kids have fun playing video games at home but electronic remote control cars can be another toy that they can enjoy. Along with being fun to play with they dont cost that much in fact sometimes they can cost less than the video games they are playing. Also another advantage to your child having electronic remote control cars is that they play with them outside as well as indoors.
Along with kids of all ages enjoying playing with them so do many men as well. In fact when you start looking into electronic remote control cars you will find ones that suit all ages, tastes and budgets.
What many people find fascinating when it comes to remote control cars is the technology used in the large sized models is exactly the same used in the much smaller ones. So no matter how much space you have you are going to be able to find a car that is suited to it and which you can enjoy not only outdoors but indoors as well.
Electronic remote control cars are popular with all ages because there are so many different models to select from. If you want you can get replicas of cars that have featured in movies, for example The General Lee from the Dukes of Hazard or you can go for more classic car models such as Camaros, Mustangs and Ferraris. Whereas for some people they prefer something a little more beefy such as a jeep or monster truck.

In what way To Get A Better Golf Swing

The Easy Drill: This drill is a classic form of golf drill used for improving the swing. Here you will have to go towards your driving range concentrating only on a single goal, i.e. striking the 150-flag. If you want to get better within a short span, then this drill is surely the best option for you.
The Hip-Turn Drill: This can be defined as a complete oddball. The hip-turn drill works specifically on improving the alignment of the hip. There are also cases where it is used for creating golf-shot tricks. This drill will need you to stand with your body square, swinging your driver with one arm. You may feel a bit odd, but it works wonders in developing the hip rotation.
Give-No-Quarter Drill: This drill can also be described as an oddball. It is used for developing all kinds of swings, including the driver swing. The fundamental theme of this drill is developing a perfect balance in your golf swings. A quarter is placed in the golf shoes while swinging. Does it appear peculiar to you? It may sound odd, but the results are truly awesome. This is an ideal drill for the golfers with poor balance.
You will have to place the quarter on your toe and prevent it from dropping while practicing a swing. Are you finding it hard? It is the easiest job on earth if you have the right balance. Regular sliding off proves definite faults in your balance.
Continue to practice these drills and reach the highest level of perfection in your swings. However, remember that these are only drills and you will also have to be good on the actual game for achieving the heights. It can be said a nice blend of game skills and golf swing drills will help you meet all your desired goals.

Learn About the Golf Swing Plane

For those who have never had contact lenses before, the thought of putting something in your eye, even to help with vision, can be rather scary. Fortunately, wearing contacts is not as bad as you might imagine. One of the common myths associated with contact lenses is that they can get slide behind your eye and get lost, which contributes to a lot of fear about using them!
Losing your contact lens in your eye isnt a big deal. First of all, the contact lens simply cant slide around the eyeball and into the space behind it. Your eyes are made to resist any intrusion. There is a transparent membrane that covers the inside of your eyelids called the conjunctiva. This membrane is very strong and it actually folds back to cover the front part of your eye. The white part of the eyeball is protected by the conjunctiva and it is literally impossible for a contact lens to just slide through it.
However, it is possible for your contact lens to get dislodged from its centralized position and become lodged under an eyelid. This can be pretty uncomfortable, if you have hard contact lenses. If this does happen, dont panic, its a fairly simple maneuver to get the lens back into place and anyone can do it. Your contact lens wont get stuck under your eyelid unless there are other factors like chemicals in your eye as well.
First, locate the lens. If you arent sure where it is, feel with your fingertip on the outside of the lids. Then look in the direction the contact lens is. For example, if the contact lens has moved up, look up. Since the lens cannot go behind the eye, this gives it the chance to reposition itself correctly. Most of the time, this is all you need to do in order to move the contact lens back into place. But sometimes it wont work, particularly if you wear hard contact lenses, which are more resistant to movement. In this case, you will need to manipulate the contact lens under the eyelid so that you can gently push it back out with your fingertip.
Dont worry, the contact lens cant get lost in your eye, only moved around a bit. There are a few reasons why a contact lens might shift out of position. Probably the most common is when you rub your eye carelessly. This can move the contact lens and lodge it under your eyelid, or even knock it right out of your eye! Care needs to be taken when rubbing your eye, rub around the contact lens if possible, rather than across the eye like you normally would.
If you are outdoors on a windy day, it is easier for the contact lens to move around, as well. The wind tends to make your eyes water and this, as well as any time you have excessive tears, can cause the lens to float, making it easier to dislodge when you blink. Sometimes the lens will actually fall out of your eye, but occasionally it will be caught under the eyelid during a blink and will need to be moved back into place.
When shifting your contact lens manually, take care not to press it into your eye. Scratches on the eye can be very painful, even if superficial and may make it impossible to wear contact lenses for some time. Being careful not to put yourself into situations where you may move your contact lens is probably the best way to avoid this problem. Dont rub your eyes too hard and be careful on windy days or anytime you tend to tear up, to avoid losing your contact lenses.

First of all…how does the average amateur handle windy conditions? Most swing harder and faster, but unfortunately that is the last thing you should be doing. Harder and faster swings lead to more mistakes, which are then compounded by the windy conditions. What you think would work, is often the opposite of what actually does work!
The very first thing you should do when playing in the wind is to throw up grass to see which way the wind is blowing where you are. Next, have a look at the trees around where your ball is going to be going to see what way the wind is blowing there. If there are no trees in that area, look at the flag. Lastly use your ears to hear the wind and this will help you to tell how strong it is. Once you’ve assessed the situation you should then follow the pointers below.
Into the Wind:
When playing into the wind you should take one, two or even three clubs more than usual and swing normally. Also grip down on the grip so your swing will be automatically shorter. Because the shorter your swing the lower the ball will go (generally).
Plus to help you keep the ball lower you should play the ball further back in your stance. And over all shots into a wind, widen your stance because this helps to create better balance and it also lowers your center of gravity, which can only help.

Side Winds:
You have two options in this situation. You can play your natural ball flight and either ride or fight the wind or you can purposely curve the ball to either go with the wind or go into it. There is no right or wrongs here so you must see what works best for you.
With the Wind:
In these situations you should use the wind and get the ball up as soon as possible. If you don’t hit your driver particularly high then use a 3 or 5 wood instead. Let the loft of your club get your ball up in the air but by all means tee the ball higher. Lastly, have fun with these shots and see how far you can hit it.
One last point. Remember everyone finds it more difficult in the wind so don’t beat yourself up if a few shots, or even more than a few, go astray because the same thing is going to happen to everyone else. Expect the scores to be higher and go out on the day with a positive attitude. One of fun and experimentation. Good luck.
